Year-round sunshine heralds our south central Florida community of Okeechobee, Florida. It offers the conveniences of big box stores such as Publix and Wal-Mart, while maintaining a small town feel. In Okeechobee County, you never know when you’re going to make a turn onto a new street and see cattle grazing in a pasture. The lake (also known as the “Bass Fishing Capital of the World”) is 37 miles long and 30 miles wide, and is a part of the Okeechobee Waterway, which runs from the west coast (Ft. Myers) through the lake, and all the way to Stuart on the east coast of the state. It’s always a good day to go fishing in our area! Conveniently located approximately 90 miles south of Orlando, and 40 miles from the Atlantic Coast, the list of things to do within a short drive is abundant. Okeechobee is truly a central location for the south end of the state. Whether you’re a fisherman looking for a winter retreat or looking to move to a state with no state income taxes and reasonable cost of living, Okeechobee has much to offer.
